LAHORE: It’s a welcome thing that the Punjab government has announced that the smog-related restrictions that were originally planned for this coming weekend will be lifted..
The smog issue has significantly improved after this decision was taken. This has been connected to Lahore’s current rainy spell. As a result, the Air Quality Index has significantly improved.
Particularly, Lahore is now ranked eighth out of the cities with the worst pollution.
Additionally, schools are no longer subject to pollution restrictions and will be open on Friday and Saturday.
The Punjab School Education Department has sent a notification on the Friday and Saturday school openings.
“Last week, the Punjab government’s School Education Department announced the closure of public schools in the province. On this Friday, November 24, 2023, and Saturday, November 25, 2023, via notification No. SO(A-1)1-31/2008 (P-1) dated 23-11-2023.”
“Kindly inform all school heads and teachers that all schools will be open for business as usual this week. From Monday through Saturday, and that nobody should rely on any notice or interpretation that isn’t approved by this office.
